Our first involvement with coal seam gas development projects started in early 2002, with a contract from Sydney Gas (now part of AGL Energy).
That early experience led to our being selected in November 2002 by Queensland Gas Company (QGC) to carry our their very first facilities screening study for the South Berwyndale field in South West Queensland. Later involvement grew from that early experience. . .
South Berwyndale Development. November 2002-January 2003. Carried out conceptual design and costing of gathering system & production facilities for initial 7 PJ/yr system.
Lacerta Field Development pre-FEED. October 2007 –February 2008. Responsible for pre-FEED conceptual design & costing of surface facilities (Phase 1 – 4 PJ/yr ramp up for domestic supply; Phase 2 – 30 PJ/yr for 0.5 million tpa LNG production ex Gladstone). Note: this work was carried out for Sunshine Gas Limited – a public company acquired by QGC in August 2008 .
Lacerta Field Development FEED. March 2008 –November 2008. Selected to act as owner’s technical representative stationed in the Brisbane offices of the Delco-GHD joint venture, to supervise execution of the $1 million FEED study for Lacerta Field Development. Due to changed resource development priorities resulting from the take-over of Sunshine Gas by Queensland Gas, this field’s development is delayed, but slated as future production for the QCLNG Project.
QCLNG Upstream Project. During 2009 we provided extensive process engineering assistance to EPC contractors who were providing proposals for supply and installation of gathering systems and compressor stations for specific QGC blocks. This work entailed the acquisition of detailed knowledge of QGC’s Basis of Design (work carried our with contractors EPS Compression, Lean Field Developments, Clough Seam Gas, and Exterran).
Moranbah Gas Project Expansion. September – October 2009. Engaged to prepare an external report on compressor tender evaluation to assist with selection of winning tender for compressor packages. Wrote paper on performance of oil injected screw versus reciprocating compressors for Queensland CSG service
PL223 Options Study. January–February 2008. Contracted as in-house process consultant to study commercialization of coal mine methane drainage from Carborough Downs mine.
Stratheden/Daandine Development. April 2008– present. Contracted as process consultant to carry out various process studies as required for FEED/EPC contractor (Delco/GHD).
Tipton West Development. April – October 2006. Process Consultant for FEED/EPC contractor Delco Australia, stationed in Brisbane offices of Aker Kvaerner (engineers to Delco).
Kogan North Development. March – November 2005. Acted as Principal Process Engineer for the Delco Australia EPC team. Detailed engineering was based on FEED by WorleyParsons.
CSG pilot well testing program. November 2008 – January 2009. Provided process design, equipment sourcing, P&ID development, HAZOP input and operating documentation for innovative skid-mounted flare systems for CSG pilot well testing and GHG reduction (with Energen Solutions).
Casino Gas Project. February-December 2007. Carried out conceptual studies followed by FEED & costing for 15-well (2.4 PJ/yr) production system to supply 30 MW power station. Drafting subcontracted to GWB Engineering (now GWB Plant – a part of OSD Pipelines).
PEL-16 Full Field Development. May-June 2007. Carried out conceptual design and costing of production facilities required to supply of 18 PJ/yr ACQ to new Swanbank ‘E’ power station.
Camden Phase 2 Development. May-November 2002. Prepared process design / sizing / costing of gathering system; prepared specifications and issued tenders for reciprocating compressors.
